Restaura was founded in 2020 by Maria Gonzalez, a Honduran immigrant who wanted to share the rich culinary traditions of her homeland with the people of Brooklyn. With a passion for cooking and a dream of bringing a piece of Honduras to New York, Maria opened Restaura, naming it after the Spanish word for "restore," symbolizing the restoration of traditional flavors in a modern setting.
Our team of chefs, all trained in Honduran cuisine, work tirelessly to ensure that every dish is authentic and delicious. We source our ingredients from local markets and import specialty items directly from Honduras to maintain the integrity of our recipes. Meet Our Chef
Juan Carlos grew up in Tegucigalpa and learned to cook from his grandmother. He brings over 20 years of experience in Honduran kitchens to Restaura, infusing each dish with authentic flavors and a modern twist.
